couple questions

Hi All
Just bought my 2006 2500 4X4 quadcab diesel yesterday.
It was an off lease buy.
Couple questions::
1. I have 75000k on this truck, is it worth buying an extended warranty?
Also Im not totally sure what he factory warranty is.

2. When driving with the daytime headlights on, when you signal the amber still flashes but the headlight on the side your turning shuts off, then when the turn is done it comes on, This goes for both sides. Is this normal?

3. We also would like a maintence schedule does anyone know where i can get one?(this is our 1st diesel)

I believe that is correct operation for those vehicles (CANADA) with daytime headlights. Its to be sure oncomming traffic can recognize that your turn signal is operating.

If you were offered an extended warranty what was the cost and what were the terms 100K or? I think the warranty on the 06 was only 36K bumper to bumper and 100K cummins. Check your glove box for the owners manual or ask at your local dealer and see if they can still order your one.

Some basic stuff:
Oil change filter: 7500 15000
Differentals 30000 30000
Tranny 30000 30000
Fuel filter 7-15K 7-15K
Air Filter 30000 15000

Doing this from memory but it's close. Watch fuel filter as getting dirty fuel might cause change at 2000 miles rather than 15000. Guess after you drive it for a few miles much will become common sense..........

Good Luck & enjoy.......

Yes, the head light, running light actually, is supposed to turn off when the signal is flashing. It does comes as a surprise when you first realize it's happening. I've had several people tell me that my new truck already has a burnt light. I had to check it out the first time, then reasoned why it was like that....so people can see your signal better.
