Head lights stay on too long after shut down HELP!

ok, so after I stop for the night and and shut the truck off "or" if I unlock the doors with the remote, the headlights stay on WAY to long. I'm sure there is some way to shorten this timer or just to shut this feature off completely. my owners manual grew legs and walked away so I'm hoping someone knows how to deal with this problem. I cant be the only one who doesnt like the headlights staying on for like "a minute" everytime you stop the truck. I know I can shut the lights off first , before the engine and the lights wont stay on but I can never remember to do this. I just want this feature turned way down or off so I dont have to think about it everytime. anyone know how?? thanks in advance

The overhead computer has a setting you can change to shorten the stay on delay.

All you have to do is take your battery cables off and leave them off for a few minutes. The ECM will reset. Worked for me!

I think it depends on what year the truck is if you can adjust that feature with the overhead... OP fill in your Sig so every1 knows what you got...

If you shut the light switch off first they will be off. Shut truck first and they stay on for light assist at night when getting out then will turn off.

All I have to do is turn the key to ON, turn the lights off, remove key.

My lights will shut off immediately after I lock the doors from the remote.

If you forget to turn the lights off before shutting down, just turn the lights off, then on, then off and they will go off.

You're right, maybe newer ones you can adjust it with the over head but on my 06 you need to bring it to the dealer or have a BDTD to adjust that and a few other things.
