Head Light Mod for 06-08 Trucks

Alright this is a question for us guys that have the 06-08 trucks. On the head light lens there is a little like bowl shaped peice of plastic that covers the end of the bulb. It like extends away from the back of the housing with a reflective tab and then it has a bowl shaped peice of plastic at the very end that just covers the barely end of the bulb. Has anyone removed this little thing? Does it make a difference in the lighting?

I would think that without that cone the light would not be focused back into the reflector and your light would not be focused forward, causing less light where you need it while driving.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking. 53Willys had a write up about how to get it apart in his write up for making your own night runner head lights. It involved a very long process involving a oven lol. I also think it would cause less light to be reflected to the main reflector behind it but im not 100 % sure. The end of the bulb has some coating on it that doesnt appear to be see through. Someone needs to try it. Or if someone has please chime in. Thanks
