H2 center bore issue....

went to put the H2's on today, and they didn't fit. they have been machined out to 4.75". i measured it, they are that. they came off an 06, but did not fit on my 03 on the front. there is no rust buildup or anything on the hub. the stock rim fits great around the hub, no forcing it on or anything. another wheel i put on before fit on also with no issues. i measure the hub, and it appeared that it was like 1/6" larger than 4.75". is this normal? they fit perfectly on an 06, i saw the pics.

Are you talking about putting Hummer wheels on your dodge? hummer and ford wheels have the right bolt patter, but the center holes are smaller and you need to have them resized.

thinking you just need to enlarge the center bore a bit. Has nothing to do with the bolt pattern. they are both 8 on 6 1/2.

Did you try all 4 of the H2 wheels on the front hubs? And did you check for any burrs or large nicks?

I don't remember the dimension but it is bigger than 4.75". Its a shade over 4.8". A thread search should get you the dimension.

I think 4.775 comes to mind, been a while since I had mine done. Do your self a favor, make sure you rotate those tires often, no less than every other oil change or you will not be too thrilled with the life of them, rotating definately makes a difference

I had mine bored out to 4.785, just a tad bigger than others have done theirs. There has also been discussion about the 4.775 being a little tight and the wheel freezing or bonding at/on the hub - think it was just the aluminum wheels that did this? You could probably get one of those piston rasps that are used to clean up the piston walls and give them a hit with it and your wheels would be fine. May take a little time but an easy solution.

thanks guys. i guess i'll just have to remove some more material. the guy i bought them from said they worked fine on his truck. he had them machined and said they worked on his truck, so i just figured i was good to go. i'm thinking about maybe a dremel or something of the sort. its not a whole lot to remove. it doesn't have to be perfect or anything, just close. what tires were you talking about rotating often? i think on these pigs, all tires need to be rotated often. the coopers s/t i have are doing good so far, but they needed to be rotated, i had them atleast do that yesterday.

I did not say it had anything to do with the bolt pattern. I said they are the same.

Ford wheels DO NOT have the right bolt pattern.Ford uses the metric measurement while Dodge and GM use 8 on 6.5.

Oh, then I am mistaken about that. I thought someone told me that before. I'm using tires from a Ford...
