Great deal on Putnam XDR Class V Hitch

I found the Putnam XDR class V on a very good closeout deal. I just wanted to pass this along to anyone looking for a very heavy duty receiver. Search this site for install pictures that others have done.

It is the Putnam 25211. Rated 1500/15000 WC, and 1600/16000lb WD.
These are very hard to find since Putnam is out of business.

Google for "putnam liquidation 25211". There is also one on the big auction site. Search for ""class V" dodge".

This is not a simple install as it requires you to remove the 2" receiver tube (not the whole crossbar, just the welded on 2" square tube). This took some time with a sawzall and grinder!

It also requires modification of hellwig sway bar mounts... and Torklift tie downs... and barely fits 285/75/17 tires with a long bed... but I got it all to work out, barely!

I ordered mine from here after doing a Google search as directed above.

http://owensclassicinternational.com/ph25211.html

Shipping was $49, but those things are heavy, all told $131. Much better than the $270 I was looking at paying for one of these last year. Thanks for the tip!

It said there was still a quantity of 3 when I ordered. I guess I just have to cross my fingers their database is correct.

Does anybody know if the 06 - 07 hitch mount is the same or not? That site lists it as "2003-6." I need one for a 2007...

I'm not positive, but if I had the 07 I'd order it and try it for that price. I can't see why the frame would be different when little else changed on the truck for 07.

As of this morning my bank got charged for the paypal transfer, so it should be a go.

ETA: I got a shipping confirmation and tracking number this morning, the package is 71 lbs. Should be here Friday.

My hitch arrived Friday. The box was kind of beat up and torn (ups taped it up). I opened it up to find that the hitch and it's components were in good shape, and the hardware bag was intact. There were a few extra nuts in the bottom of the box, but the hardware bag was still sealed. I'm thinking maybe UPS threw them in there thinking they came out of the box. There were no instructions in the box, but I was able to download the instructions off the web.

I'm not sure if I'll be installing it today, it's supposed to be 103 today and 105 tomorrow. If I do it'll be after dark.

Looks like they sold out. I did a quick search and didn't find any elsewhere.
