Going from BFG265 to BFG315 and Tire Pressure

What have you all done with regard to tire pressure when going from the 265's to the 315's? Especially with regard to towing 10-12k......

Both tires are rated 121/118R so they carry the same speed rating, weight capacity and load index. But the max air pressures are vastly different.
Before I make the plunge, I'd like to get some input from those of you that have made this change and tow with the 315's.

Thanks!

Take a look at the 305/65/17's....not much smaller but do have the e load rating.

I ran 48-50psi in my BFG 315s front and rear. The max pressure is 50psi on the BFG 315s. I would not run them less than 45psi regardless.

Ditto, I had 70psi in the stock 265's and 50psi in my H2/315s right now. Just had a yard of sand (2600lbs I think) in the back this weekend and they barely flexed and rode well. I don't mind the 50psi unloaded either.

If you run around empty with 50 psi in 315's you WILL wear the centers out rather quickly. I run 45 front 35 rear empty, and 45/50 loaded. Have 20K on mine now and someone just asked the other day if the tires were new...

i disagree. i have ran 50psi in mine since i got them, and they are perfectly worn even, with tons of tread left. they are 35x12.5, but i don't think that is much of a difference

Hmmm...He asked about 315's, not 35" coopers. Different brand, different height, different width, different load carrying...close to the same tire is not the same tire.

I have 315 BFGs and I keep the rears at about 50/55. My toy hauler has a hitch weight of about 1K lb.

I run all four at 50psi when towing my 5ver, but run 45psi in front and 40psi in back when unloaded. I have about 30K on the tires and they are wearing quite well.

I run 50 psi front and rear, rotate every 10k. They're wearing pretty evenly, I've gotten nearly 50k on them now. About another 10k and I'll be replacing them. Tows fine with this setup, but 50psi isn't the hot ticket for pulling a trailer in the sand or for playing around in the dunes, I'll drop them down to about 15 psi as needed.

i run 50/50 and have 60k miles on my 315's. 2 tires are about done and the other 2 could go for a few thousand miles. i pull a 38 ft race trailer at same psi, no problems. However lately with the death wobble in the last 15k miles, i run my fronts at 60 psi to stop it.
