hey all ,my question is i recently put on a m/e pipe and mbrp tip on my truck ,heres the thing i didnt throw my muffler out yet and i wanna ,but i noticed my inspection is up my concerns are will it pass i live in ny i dont wanna throw the muffler out till i get it but i dont wanna have to do this every year,any help much appreciated

 

Best advice I can give you is ask your inspection station what they will pass and fail. It'll probably vary per mechanic.
Your better off knowing before hand, IMO.

 

If you removed the muffler you are good. The muffler is not part of the smog inspections anywhere. I get inspected every year in NC and they don't care as long as they see the cat. Scotty

 

I never have any trouble here in NY. All my trucks are straight piped and none have a cat.
