Fuel tank hole repair

Looking for suggestions for repairing a hole that was punched through a plastic type fuel tank. Will ABS plastic plumbing pipe glue work on the tank plastic?

Thanks

Well I would probably use J-B Weld if the hole is not too big. I have used it on gas cans, exhaust and many, many other things over the years.

ABS cement for sure will not work, most tanks are some form of Polyethylene.

Check with your local auto parts store, I believe there is a special patch material.

If you want to do it professionally, this is the ticket: http://www.arizonatools.com/detail/URE5600HT/
