fuel tank

I read a thread on here the other day about the fuel tank vent letting dirt and water in it, so I took a piece a rubber hose about 2 feet long and put up over the vent and let it hang over the frame rail . . While I was under there I noticed on the high side of the tank that there is a big white cap that looked like is screwed on, and on the top is a nipple sticking up with a rubber cap on it with a clamp around it. I was wondering if you could pull that cap off and put a rubber hose on it and use it as a vent along with the other one? Anyone know if it will work?

Thats a aux fuel connection

It's is s good way to drain the tank though if you ever need too. There should have been two of those connections you need to worry about though, one on the front, and one on the back of the tank. Ken Irwin
