Fuel Level Sender went out
Fuel Level Sender went out
Ok this is probably a dumb question, but my fuel level sender went out and I am having trouble getting the electrical connector loose on top of the fuel tank. Is there a trick to getting it loose? Does the electrical connector on top of the tank control the fuel level sender and the fuel pump because I only see one electrical connector there?
IIRC there is a small plastic slide lock on the top of that electrical connector. You have to slide that all the way over then it will release the connector when you depress it. Yes I believe its the only electrical connection the the sending unit.
If your going to replace the sending unit you might want to just go ahead and either drop the tank or remove the bed. It will make removing the sending unit easier and if you want to go ahead and install an aftermarket fuel pump (FASS, Airdog, etc) then now would be the time to do it.
