Front End/Steering Help

Hello,

I was looking for some help with my 08 megacab. The truck has 38k on it and I am getting the loose feeling in the steering wheel like the front end is going to fall out. This is the 4th 3rd gen I have owned and I have encounter this with all of them and it was a easy itermediate steering shaft replacment that fixed the feeling.

This time around I decided to go with a borgson shaft as I felt i might keep this truck a few years, when i put this in it got worse. Borgenson says it would if the shaft was not the problem as thier shaft is tighter and you would get more feeling out of it as thats makes sense to me.

after 3 different dealers telling me that there is nothing wrong, two frt end alignments, sector shaft brace, new shocks, ball joints, steering stabilizer, and a second borgson shaft i still have the problem.

The only thing that does not seem right to me is there is play in the shaft that connects the borgson shaft to the steering gearbox.

Should thier be play in this shaft? I would say i can move it a 1/16 or so. It only make sense that this would give me feedback up through the borgson shaft into the wheel.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

i was thinking of changing the intermediate shaft also, because i had a new gear box & drivers axle ujoint installed on warranty 2 weeks ago, as well as the new style steering linkage twice in the 2 weeks prior to the last trip to the dealer. the handling on the truck is very sloppy on the highway compared to the old worn out linkage.. it is really getting bothersome especially when i pass someone and the truck feels so top heavy when pulling back in my lane.(lots of body roll). i too was wondering what the tolerances were at the intermediate shaft ujoint and gear box??

Have you tried looking at your swaybar end links? Mine went bad and I got a set from Geno's, along with polyurethane bushings for the track bar and that helped a bunch (I just did ball joints in June, steering stabilizer a month ago, steering box at 120k, 142k on it now) It has helped alot
