Friggin Dodge Dealer and guys in Service

Can't believe some service guys share the same breathing air as the good ones on this forum!

I took my 4900 mile truck into the dealer for 2 recalls it had for the insulation and front steering as well as the oil change indicator just popped on. I asked them to grease the front drive shaft as the sticker under the hood indicates as well as the manual and do my first oil change.

What I received was two DEEP scratches in the middle of my drivers door on my well taken care of waxed truck!!! I found this when I pulled into my driveway too as they did not say anything to me.

Additionally, they stated there was no lube point on my front drive shaft and it had lifetime joints... I spoke to a service guy about this and was clueless and basically said I was incorrect.

They stated they updated the ECM to the latest, but there is no sticker either indicating this (still have my AZ sticker).

I asked them to check the AC since they system pretty much sucks, they said it was fine and blowing 46 degrees.

I am just so ****** and needed to share. This stuff makes me more neurotic about anyone I don't know getting remotely near my truck or anything...

I have a meeting with the service manager Monday for sure! Hopefully, I will be able to keep my cool.

Ummmm... Thats a bad scratch - sorry man good luck with your meeting! I was a Chrysler tech (12years ago) and if I did something like that it would go straight to the body shop. Lucky me I never damaged anyones vehicle like that though.

Before you go back, print out pictures of the grease fitting on the driveshaft, find it yourself and show the dealership where it is located. Invite them under the truck with you.

Then vow never to go back to the dealership again. It'll have to be some pretty serious circumstances before I take mine there. I swore off dealerships after the dealer crossthreaded the drain plug on my brothers CRX, screwed the front end up on dads K10, didn't put the correct amount of oil in my girlfriends parents van...

Its not just the Dodge dealers... its all of them! Don't get me wrong, there are lots of great ones out there, but there are lots that arent.

When you leave look to see if they put a license plate frame advertising their dealership on your truck. Carry a screwdriver so if they do you can take it off and give it back to them.

Hope they treat you right and fix everything.

The above mentioned is true, some dealers are great, some dealers are a bit far from that.

I bought my truck from one and they were a good dealer, NO BS, however working on a diesel, not so great. Wanted my high idle enabled took it to another dealer and spoke with the service manager. He said he's never done one yet, but he would give it a shot. Got it working on the truck asked him what I owed him he said nothing as it was something for him to learn, tried to give him a 20 and he wouldn't take it. That to me is great customer service.

But if they do something like that to the truck then they for SURE should say something. Treat every vehicle like it's your own (which was problably nicer than there own) but hey that's just me. Like others I'm my own repair shop

My dealer likes to wash your truck after they service it,scratched the **** out of my mirrors, totaly trashed my AC condenser once with their boots while standing on the bumper, got that fixed and got the Kilby condenser gaurd,so it wont happen again, inside door panel got a big gouge in it from what looks like the slotted end of a screwdriver, spilled coffee all over my cup holder, like *** are you drinkin coffee in my truck for!!Thats exactly why people fix things themselves when they can.

I always do a "walk around" like at the rental counter when I'm forced to go to the dealer.
Once I got my brand new (900 miles) truck back from having a door adjustment for wind noise, and there was rubber all over my rear fender wells, meaning some (four letter explative) power braked and spun my tires, of course I didn.t notice till I got home, when I spoke to the GM he said he spoke the the guys and they all said they didn't do it basically he called me a liar!
It takes a lot for me to go to the dealer for anything. Obviously I don't go back to that one.

I had grease on my floor mat once after an oil change and I went in the back to get the truck myself since there was no porter around and my stereo, which I turn to 0 and then off before leaving it for service, was cranked up. I always walk around the truck as well as was mentioned above. I complained to the service manager and he had the truck put through a full detail and gave me a cupon for a free oil change. I also, to this day, have never seen the lot porter who took my truck from the service drive that day

I went to the dealer a while back and left there greasy fingerprints all over my headliner, why?? They were supposed to be dealing with fueling issue. I noticed they put the license plate frames on the front and the rear I tore them off in three pieces and left them on the ground.

Lol. Thats funny. One of the dealers that I use to take my truck to sometimes, would always put license plate frames on my truck after they were done. The did it everytime. I hated it. Why would I want my truck to say "Lithia!"

Yep it's pretty sad. The one time I took my truck back to the dealer for an alignment after the lift, the idiots drove with my E-brake on, I left it about 3/4 way down, and in gear just in case. I come back to find it in gear, E-brake looks EXACTLY the same spot. Absolutely refuse to let any dealer touch it again. Anytime I need to get something done I cannot do like an alignment, I sit there beside them watching their every move, and most places I drive it in and out. I also put covers on my leather seats so nothing gets on them if they must drive it. If I see so much as a spec of dirty ANYWHERE they will hear about it for sure.

I don't know *** it is about most places. They think all trucks are just work trucks and don't give a ****. I am so sick of it. I'm not saying they treat a lot of cars to much better, but trucks seem to get the worse.

I would for sure raise hell that is a BAD scratch.

We can't have this stuff on here. Slander is an offense that is prosecutable. I'm sorry about what happened, but deal with the dealer through proper channels.
