Stereo control on the steering wheel is one of my favorite features! I don't see how I could ever drive without it now!

I had the steering wheel controls on my last SLT. It was part of a package that included the auto dim rearview mirror. Don't have either on the new truck. My autodim never activated on the old truck because I tint the rear window with "limo" tint - head lights from the rear are never very bright.

It don't miss them, as I don't listen to my CD's (used it to skip tracks) anymore with the sat. radio and I-Pod hook up on the new truck.

My brother told his friend the new radio was "voice activated", and you had to speak into the hole in the dash to tell it what to do. He had his friend telling it to turn up, down, switch stations, etc... for half an hour!

Well, I don't really feel dumb about this but I had my rollback tow truck for a year (88 Ford 350 Custom) and discovered it had tilt steering!
The turn signal switch is also the tilt lever!

Well, without picking on anyone in particular by quoting them, and not being censored here by "Big Brother", I say this with all due respect to the ignorant fellow forum members who don't take the time to read about the inner workings of their truck by reading the "OWNERS MANUAL"!!!!HERE'S YOUR SIGN!!!!!!

I won't say I didn't know about this feature on my 05. Let's say I just found it by accident. Shut off the truck, then turn your lights off and they'll stay on for ~ 30 seconds. I think you can't open the door until the light switch is turned off, or it won't work.

Another thing I noticed, but much earlier: if you're on an onramp and someone is riding your bumper, press the skinny pedal (it's on the far right of the floor) firmly and the tailgator will back way off.

I just wanted to pass these tips on.

Well I just check my truck. I have the high end infinty system. My steering wheel got felt up like a teenage girl on her first date. But I found no buttons. So I think it is only a Laramie option

I did read the owners manual and skipped the radio section . I spent almost two days reading it when I first got the truck and when I came to the quit in depth part about or radio's I remember thinking all I need to know is were the on and off are and how to change the station , why waist my time . So that is how two years later I find some buttons and I rewrite my book of life to include read radio section next time .

Hidden options

This is a good place to remind that the sun visors not only flip up and down but also extend inward toward the rear view mirror. Real helpful when driving into a setting sun!

Thumbs up Steering wheel audio controls

Yes, you can get this option on the SLT model. I learned while shopping for my Mega Cab that some trucks had the steering wheel audio controls with the Infinity setup and some didn't. I think it was about a $50 difference on the sticker. These controls are really nice especially if you have the Sirius radio option.
