Firestone Destination AT's...

Ok, so I have been doing research. I have a buddy who manages a Firestone auto care store, and can get a decent deal on a set of 285/70/17's for the Dodge. I am stepping down a size from the 35" Procomp XAT's. Has anyone used the Destination AT's? Everything I am seeing is that they are a good all terrain tire, and they do look nice. I am not impressed with procomp tires, and after I was told they would not warranty them because I drive winding mountain roads, I will never buy procomps again, nor will I buy from 4 wheel parts again. The Destinations now come in a load range E which is what I want to go back to. Just looking for any input on these tires.
Thanks!
Scott

I'm assuming they're built by Bridgestone as they share the Uni-T precision molding process. Should work out well. Several times a year Firestone/Bridgestone have a buy 3,get 1 free sale. The Bridgestone one just expired.

Yeah.. they are having a buy 3 get 1 free on the firestone's right now. I'd buy now, but I don't NEED them yet, so it's hard to get the wife to go for it. I can also get a really good deal through my buddy, who gives me stuff at ALMOST his cost.

Nice. The transforce aren't aggresive enough for my tastes, which is why I am leaning toward the AT's.

The TForces are more like All Weathert even in the AT model, but I haven't been stuck yet...well once, but the bank gave way under the weight of the truck and it all most rolled.
I would also like to mention that the FireStones took very little weight to balance un like the old BFG's I had.

I have exactly that tire size in the MT version. Noise is there, but not as bad as the Coopers. Siped, they work well enough even in deep snow and on ice. I'm seeing roughly half the wear rate that I had on my Cooper ST which these replaced.

Not enough sidewall to carry the Lance Camper, so I have a set of Toyo AT for that task.

I installed them on my 2007.5 after about 2100 miles of use of the OEM Michelin LTX A/S's (A/S must stand for Always Suck----brand new or worn). I also chose the LT285/70R17's also.......I have the tires and wheels in my signature for summer use, and always change out when winter rolls around. They do great IMO and ride out smooth.
