Ever used Cummins warranty?

I was boasting last night about the Cummins and its 100,000 mile warranty and wondered if anyone had ever been out of their 7/70 from Dodge and made a claim against the Cummins warranty? Was it a hassle, where did you have to go?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, I think the 100,000 mile warranty on engine is through dodge not cummins. I beleive dodge buys from cummins without warrenty to save money then they (dodge) provide warranty work. hope that helps

I had a problem with my old 94. It blew a bolt or something out of the side of the pump with 97k on it. I towed to Dodge. They contacted a rep and they had it towed to Cummins N.E. I don't know who paid. But the only thing I paid for was the orginal tow. I thought they would want 100 deductable. But Cummins said just take it. The tow cost me 65. Funny thing 2 weeks later I got the recall notice about the linkage coming apart and could cause a problem with the pump.

There is no "Cummins" warranty. Dodge purchases the engines from Cummins without a warranty and then extends the warranty on the Cummins engine out of its own warranty reserves. This is a simple matter of risk management - Dodge chose not to pay Cummins for the risk associated with in-warranty failures and pocketed the savings.

If Dodge so elected, they could refer a vehicle to Cummins for repairs, but Dodge paid Cummins for the parts used and the work done. The owner of the vehicle, however, cannot drive into a Cummins shop and claim warranty status.

From the Cummins website:
Can a Cummins Distributor do warranty work on my Dodge Ram?

Dodge dealers handle all warranty work on the Cummins Turbo Diesel. However, some Dodge dealers have relationships with Cummins distributors and "sublet" warranty work to them. Contact your Dodge dealer for details.

And for those of you 2005 or earlier with the 7 yr 70K driveline warrnty you also have the engine 7yr 100k warranty seperate from teh 7/70. Remember there are 2 stages to the engine warranty. First 5 year, under 100k miles there is no deductable, Second is over 5 years to 7 years under 100 K then there is a $100 deductable. The engine warranty covers many things that the dealers are trying to get your $100 for under the 7/70 which does have a $100 deductable, Injectors, pumps including the transfer pump, CP3 and many other things are under the engine warranty, Check your warranty book and argue if in doubt. Your book has a specific list of things covered.

I don't know where you guys are getting this thing about the 06 only having 3/36 warranty.

My 06 DOES have the 5/100K warranty. I'm looking at the paperwork as I type.

Is it possible that only certain 06 configurations kept the extended warranty?
