EBrake for 05 Auto and Brake Cylinder
Is there such a thing as an E-Brake for an 05 with auto? I tow a trailer every week of the year, and front brakes are wearing away with the quickness. Also, on my 02, there were crappy rear brake cylinders. Seems like my 05 acts the same way. Minimal braking in the rear. I can only say this due to the lack of dust buildup on the rear that is ever present on the front. If i cant use an ebrake, is there anything that i can use without blowing anything up!
I think the BD, Banks, and PacBrake work on the 05. You may have to add an extra electronic module to control the torque converter lockup though. I had a Banks on my 2001 w/ what they called SmartLock. It worked very well and is great for towing.
If the trailer you are towing has trailer brakes, you can hook up a trailer brake control module. Our trucks are pre-wired. I know the 05 plugs are under the dash on the driver's side.

Yeah, the trailer has trailer brakes. At up to and around 9-10k, with 2 axles, you are required here in ct to have trailer brakes. They are good, as i just replaced them completely, just looking for a solid way to help out the truck,
An exhaust brake would be great. D.C. has no approved exhaust brake for the auto. I have heard of people doing this but you will have to upgrade the tranny to withstand the extra wear and tear. You will need a TC, VB, and a lockup controller. Pacbrake offers the E.B and controller. Jacobs does not offer anything, and Banks has one only for an 03' auto. I have wanted one but just can't justify the cost since I live in the flatlands. (still would get plenty of use out of it). I am not springing for a new truck just for this reason.

I hear you.
Sucks that the 06, you can get one for the auto, but the seeming number of problems with the 06, i definitely feel are not worth it. I will wait till 2010, and get the 09 model after the bugs get worked out. Definitely stick, with the ebrake though. Ooh well. If i blow the trans, i will get an ATS, and then, maybee i guess i can get an e brake.

That's the spirit. There is more than one way to get that new Trans for the Truck by the wife. Just blow it up. Then you can have the exhaust brake. That is if you can get past the $4000 to $5000 for the tranny. OUCH!!!!!!!
I think I will humble myself up and stay stock.
