Drivers Seat Clunk

Any one else have an issue with thier drivers seat being able to rock a little bit? Mine will do it and make a little clunk sound every once in a while. I haven't looked to see where it is moving at yet, but I figured I would ask.

Yes, but I have not looked either. I thought it was my tranny mount at first.

I can make it do it by shifting my wieght from front to back, so I guess I need to take a look that the seat mount and make sure everything is nice and tight.

Mine too. Only seems to happen when I take off from a stop. I cannot pinpoint where the movement is though. The seat is definitely bolted down tight....

It is probably wear in the seat back latch assembly, mine has some too,and I am sure it is not going to be ajustable,Even the pasenger side has some and usually no one srides their,so they are not perfect new either.

So your saying it's part of the mech that allows the seat to tilt? or to move forwards and backwards?

All these posts about "clunks" have now led me to believe that all us CTD owners drive "clunkers". Now i see why ford sells more trucks than dodge. That and their horrible ac in this hot Texas weather.

I don't know about your air txarrowhunter but mine is blowing a chilly 38*!!! I'm lovin it. The only problem I have with it is at an idle it will only cool to around 50* but hey, like you said about the heat here in Texas being crazy, my inside temps are pretty darned comfy.

txarrowhunter, my A/C works great ever since installing my slimline auxiliary fan from Jegs. I'd recommend looking into one of those. It's hot here too....

well you see i have now spent $538 buckaroos on parts alone just for replacement compressor, the hose ball valve mod from home depot, and 16" fan with relay from summit. Thats not including the $125 i just handed the dealer for a ac freon recharge and remove any air in the system.

So whats next, the thing only blows 67*cold after i have drove her 40miles+ @70mph

I compared it to my brothers 08 6.4 and that thing is ice cold within 2min after you start it on 100* day.

Man, I sure hope the OP knows we're not trying to hijack his thread. txarrowhunter...I'm not sure about the a/c system on your '07 but my '03 holds 32oz of 134 and ever since I had to replace my dryer, cold line, and compressor a couple of years ago I've never looked back. Blows COLD 99% of the time. 67* huh...man I feel your pain. Wonder if the dealership pulled a full vacuum and gave it the right charge?

It's cool by me. I notice when I am sitting still my air is not as cold as when I am moving. I also sat in the pass seat one day leaving the store.... I could tell a big difference in how cold the driver side is compared to the pass side. I need to do the mod to turn off the coolant from the blend door for the summer.

Drivers seat clunk to freezing my --- off. This thread deff got hijacked a little. It happens. My drivers seat also has a very faint clunk to it but I only notice it when it is in the middle range (wife has been driving it) and I have thrown my big rear into the cab.

Well, so you already did all the things to make it work as well as possible. Sorry it didn't work. I got in my wife's Town & Country and was amazed that upon initial startup on a hot day the A/C was blowing very cold the second it started. Why doesn't Dodge use the same brand of A/C systems in all their vehicles and why does it have to be the pickup trucks that get the junky systems?????
This is the kind of stuff that makes people look at us Dodge Ram owners and ask "What was he thinking when he bought that?"

Regarding the original question, if you have the power seat, it's probably the scissor bracket itself. Mine was doing it and the dealer replaced it under warrantly. If you raise the seat to it's highest position, you'll probably notice the clunk (movement of the bracket) more. I first noticed I had the problem when accelerating hard from a dead stop.
