Door Lock ***** - I'm A Dummy

Ok I order these cool looking door lock ***** but I can't figure out how the old ones come off. Every car/truck I've ever had they just screwed off but I've twisted them by hand and they want budge. Am I just not twisting hard enough or do I need a pair of pliers or what??? Didn't want to break one off on the new truck.....

I went through CDrom manual and can't find breakdown of door components.
I'd have assumed they screwed off too, sorry.
I'd wait before disassembling door as someone will chime in with the answer.

good luck

You can get the CD rom or old fashioned book service manual from the dealer. The '07 manuals arent out yet. A few more weeks I was told. They must be adding sections with 6.7 info in them? Can't recall the exact price but I know it's $100+

For those interested, I got them off with a pair of pliers and rag to keep from damaging them. But the new alluminum, nicer looking lock ***** rattle when you hit a bump. Guess thats why the OEM are rubberized. I put those back on and no more rattle....Don't know till you try.

maybe you can put an o-ring or two inside of the new ones you bought, and that will keep them from rattling. Just something to shim them out a little.. Just a thought..

Mine had the same problem when i first installed them and it was really agitating. I took the door panels off the front doors and glued a piece of foam in between the rod for the lock and the metal to push it out further. Then put the panel back on and not more rattles.
