Door leaks air cross wind

Alrighty I need to clairify pry. i have an 04 thats always leaked a lil bit in cross wind through the doors, it litterally pulls the top of the door away from the cab and leaks. always done it, annoying but nothing fixed it. last couple of days down ( with all the new bumpy snow on the roads) when i hit the holes in the snow it shakes open. any sugestions? how do i adjust the door? will the pin move?

My '03 used to be real bad on the driver side. Other side has always been fine. I adjusted it last year and need to tighten top a little more as I can still hear it leak in a real stiff crosswind. If you mark around the hinge brackets with a grease pencil or marker before you loosen for reference, you can move door around to squeeze a little tighter against the seal in the front of the door. If your door is like mine was, it will not sound right when shut. It will sound like it hits the latch pin with a solid crack, indicating that the door is stopped by the pin before the seal is compressed. I adjusted mine till the door compressed the seal quite a bit before it even closed around the pin. My door also rattled around and clunked when going down a rough road before I adjusted it.

Yea, it should. I walked out and looked at my 94 Dodge and it looks very close to the same setup. Just be careful to adjust a little at a time and close the door frequently to recheck the alignment and gaps between panels / other door.

Also, only loosen bolts enough to slide hinge plate, loosening too much makes the door move around too much.

There was a thread on here not too long ago regarding the same problem. From what i understand there is an upgraded seal for the 06's and 07's that will bolt directly onto our 03's etc. This is supposed to help alot, and I think with the work that roughnready has helped us with will totally fix the problem

Or, if you don't want to do it yourself, you can have a body shop do it. When i got my bedliner sprayed in i got on of the mechanics to do it for free. It took about 3 minutes top.

I just did my 04's. it takes a Torx-T50 bit to loosen it.
Made a world of difference!!!
Mark it with a sharpie or something. And you only need to move it a hair.

I worked in the door jamb(sp) on the truck body not the door itself.
I will post a pic right now to await approval.

On mine its just a hook/loop that the door latches on too!!!

ok, after you explained it i thought that was what you were talking about. now i have to buy a T50 bit j/k . i don't have one that big though.

i didn't realize that was adjustable. but it is right?

well, i'm gonna try it tomorrow, you said it made a world of difference?

Yep it will move a decent bit. don't go the whole 9 yards right off. I tried a couple different spots.
Autozone sells these bits individually.
