Well last week I started changing out my Ball Joints......After A few days, A torch, and A press was able to finally get the lower joint out.......

Pulled it out of the shop last night and noticed the dome light Stayed on. Checked my Switch, rotated the switch and still stayed on. Checked all the doors and it still stayed on.

As I drove to work today it stayed on the entire drive. Got to work and once again checked all the above to the same result. light stays on.

Its the dome light only, not the map lights on the overhead display.

Anyone have any ideas what could be up here?

Forgot the specifics its a 2005 3500 with a 6.9

 

If its a QC, there have been issues in the past of the rear door wiring being too short and cutting/shorting speaker wires, power window wires..etc.... you might pull the rubber boot back and look. From what I understand, its been mainly on the drivers side rear door. Another thing would be to open the drivers door and using a small screw driver, manually latch the door too see if its open.
My stereo on my 06 model will stay on after shutting the truck off IF the doors arent opened. If your truck is set up the same way, close all the doors, start it up, turn the radio on then shut the truck off, if the radio stays on, then its not a door latch issue.
There was a TSB out for the 06 models about dome light issues but it was for them going off right after you opened the door and the overhead thermostat not reading right.

 

It is a QC.....The radio goes off as soon as I turn the key off. It always has done that. It will shut off on its own when the truck is shut off, after a long while. But its still on while driving and I am not getting a code of any kind and do not have a door open indicator.

Anyone know where the relay is located for the dome light? or have access to a schematic for this model?
