Dodge Service Dept. terrible
Greenhornet.. I'm not 100% positive, but I'd assume that things on the truck such as weatherstrip, etc. are only covered on your 3 yr./36000 mile warranty, as they are not powertrain or engine items. That's why I'm trying to get these things done right now as I only have 2-3 months left on my 3 yr. warranty
You know it is real sad that the dealers and mechanics have no clue what is going on when TSB's come up. I know in the Naval Aviation, we have Technical Directives that come out on a weekly basis and are throughly screened, and whatever applies to our type equipment, it get's done. Maybe the auto industry should get on board with some type of system so they aren't the ones looking like the idiots. Heck, we do there job for them and they look at you, like said before, your from another planet.
In the automotive world, You only look into TSB's when you have an issue.
When you looked a door seal part number for example, a TSB flashs up. Or searching door seal for example.
Techs can not know all the TSB outs there, they work on many cars, of to many different years, to many TSB's.
Some of the techs may remember some of them, but the TSB between an 05 and 06 are very different.
We being part of the internet can free up our time and look as the customer, if you have a TSB you think is right, like others have said, print it out, it helps.
For the driveshaft fitting, I have to show the techs where it was, when you first found it, how long did it take you?
Maybe I am bias, I wrenched for Ford before i went into the private sector.

I Know How You Feel...
I have been disappointed with Dodge’s customer service so far. I have had a simple water leak since I purchased the truck. The dealership has taken a non-aggressive approach to fixing it, and I still have the leak 10 months later. They have unsuccessfully attempted to fix the leak at least seven times. Currently, I am without my truck and have been for five days. They have finally identified the root cause and determined it to be the back glass. Now the kicker…because it’s glass, the dealership must take photographs of the problem and file a claim with Chrysler’s warranty department. Apparently, it is a formality the dealership has to go through to ensure they get paid by Chrysler. The owner and service manager are out of town, so there isn’t anyone to “risk it” and order the glass prior to getting approval from Chrysler. In a nutshell, it’s very likely that it will take an additional week to get my vehicle put back together because of this ridiculous approval process. They can’t order the glass until they get an “ok” from the warranty department and the glass takes two business days to deliver. It’s Friday and still no approval from Chrysler. The truck has been great and the leak was so small, but man I’m getting frustrated.

They have been taking pictures of trouble areas for warrenty work for a long time. I believe it may help identify problems and how to solve in the future. No lemon law where you live? 7 Times for the same thing.....you should have got hold of the regional rep...anytime there is any issue with your vehicle not being fixed. Good Luck

PS: Not all dealers are bad here now....it sounds lke they are getting the bums rush here......my Florida dealer is A+ ....located just South of Daytona.
Thats the case most of the time, like most all other things in life. You only hear about the bad , not too many compliment the good. I ( A.S.E. Master certified Technician ) took my wife's minivan in to the dealer the other day for an alignment and rotate and balance because I do not have the equipment to do it myself. Not only did I get the van back before the promised time, but they also gave me a "mailer" coupon for the two services which took almost 30 bucks off my bill! Can't beat that. I know every situation is different, but the problem needs addressed AT the dealer. The people here on the forum can only offer advice about how to deal with the situations, we can't fix 'em!
There is a lemon law, and I believe I'd probably qualify, but the truck itself has been tremendous and a joy to drive. No engine, tranny, or 4wd issues. The only problem, albeit an annoying one, has been the leak. I am definitely willing to work with the dealership to get this problem resolved, because I really like my truck. I'm peeved at the process and how long it's taken to get me back in my truck.
