Got a letter from my insurance company and Dodge trucks were among the top 5 trucks being stolen in the US.

I did just see this odd security add on from JC Whitney,it's a fuse relay that you use in place of your fuel pump relay, looks normal but the trick to it is you use a key fob to "lock it" basicly shuts it off so your fuel pump will not run.

Granted it's a cheap add on but if there smart enough to look for it and have a spare relay there pro's and will get the truck reguardless of what you have on it.

Being I live in a small town I might try it,but for now if I go to Harrisburg or Lancaster I pull out the starter fuse and replace it with a blown one.

That means it is unlikely that a Dodge will be stolen. How many major brands are sold?

If it is important to get a stolen truck back, Lojack is really the best (if it is reported stolen in a timely manner). If someone wants to steal a particular vehicle, it's gonna go bye-bye no matter what alarm is on it.

They tried to take my cousins 3500, but what kept them from taking it was that there was a metal plate in back of the door handle that kept them fromopening the door. My truck doesn't have that plate but would like to make some and put them there. His was an 03 fully loaded with leather, mine is an 04 slt, don't know if that makes a difference.

Is the Mopar alarm a plug-n-play install?

I have an 03 with leather and mine does not have that plate, I sure wish it did because that is how the lowlife broke into it.....

I have a system similar to the ravelco. Very effective. My parents had a neat one installed on their Yoda that would only let the vehicle start if 2 auxiliary functions were enabled when the key was turned, like the wipers and passenger seat heater. The aux functions could be changed any time they wished, so it wasn't a hard-wire job.
