Do '06 headlights/foglights blind other drivers?

I've noticed over the past month or so that I have people flashing their brights at me when coming from the opposite direction.

I run both my regular beams and fog lights at night mostly because the regular beams don't seam to work very good. But when you turn on the fogs it definately helps. In my opinion the fogs mostly light up the ground just in front of the truck. And when you turn them on and off while you have the low beams on, it just seems to fill in that gap between the truck and where the low beams hit.

With that in mind I wouldn't think the fogs would be blinding other people.

Thoughts?

Maybe one of the beams is misaligned from the factory.
Foglights can be annoyingly bright even if aimed properly.
Pull up to a wall or your garage door, anything aimed off center?
Have your wife drive the truck toward you while your in her car.

just some ideas

so you are one of those no fog but use fog lights person. although the fog light appears to be filling between the truck and low beam, that is the lower part of the fog beam the rest is pointing higher than you think. There have been several threads about the poor lighting, easy cure for most is replace the bulbs with silverstars 9007ST, they are a much brighter whiter bulb. did mine big difference driving down the back roads. And now I blind them.

My fogs are always on and I've never had anyone flash me. My guess is you have a light or both lights out of adjustment. I installed and adjusted mine myself, so I know they are good.

The fact that you are not happy with your lighting makes me think that your headlights may need to be adjusted. The low beams on my 06 are the best I have come across.

My 06 Mega is terrible when I have my enclosed bike trailer behind it. I constantly get flashed, even with the fogs off..
The high beams point up and right to the point that they are useless.
I think it's time to do the ol garage door at dusk adjustment for me..

I guess I'll have them checked out next time at the dealer.

I'm not sure about how to aim the low beams or especially the fogs.

I know I know. The main reason I started using them all the time was because the low beams weren't doing the job.

Aren't they technically "driving lights" though?

I always thought fog lights were amber.

I wish they'd ticket every one running their fog lights with on coming traffic.Every SUV,TRUCK,SPORTS whatever run them suckers 24/7 in every condition BUT FOG.They have bothered my eyes for years.I usually hit my switch to get all four asking to turn those darn lights off unless conditions call for it.

I live in the city, but work in the country. In the city I don't use my fog lights at all. There is really no need with all the streetlights. In the country I use my fogs to help me see the edge of the roadway, etc. If your fogs are adjusted correctly, they should not affect oncoming traffic at all. (Now I am talking fog lights and not driving lights here)

If other drivers keep indicating that your lights are bothering them, check the alignment of all of them.

Here's a problem with the '06....We dont have 9007 series bulbs!!! Dodge is now putting in H13 bulbs for the headlights, and there is NO Silverstar for this application! It would be the 9008 series....And Sylvania won't/can't make them due to some federal reg (or so I've read).....I purchased Nokya bulbs from ebay, but had one burn out in 8 months....So I'm back to the original bulbs....The fog lights remain the same with the 9006 series....Streetglow lamps are another option, but not sure if they have H13 replacements..(edit-just checked and they dont)....Lotsa guys on dodgetalk run Streetglows...The problem is they are nearly DOUBLE wattage, so a wiring upgrade should be a serious consideration....GOOD LUCK finding replacements for the '06 headlamps!

I've found I use the foglights the most when its raining...Makes the lines more visible to me....Still thinking about adding driving lights that make the sun look dim

I need to get some fogs on mine. the only time I really need them is on logging roads or mtn hwys. I agree there definitely is a gap at the bottom and it is hard to see the road when going around steep down hill corners. But I don't see any need for normal driving conditions, but mine is a 03. so no help I guess from me.

I'll join in here on this one because I hate fog lights. Everybody on the road around here runs their factory fog lights steady and no matter how they are adjusted, they are blinding. My buddy runs his steady and gets flashed by 2 out of every 5 vehicles EVERY MORNING!!! You'd think he'd clue in that THEY ARE ANNOYING!!!! Meanwhile his Chevy has some of the most impressive stock headlamps on the market and the fogs are completely unnecessary.

Personally I upgraded my stock headlamps to the silverstars and installed driving lights that are hooked to my high beams. When I see a car a long way off I drop the driving lights and then when appropriate I knock down my highs.

Fog lights are designed to shine low to the ground, under the fog. That's why they are always mounted so low. If they are shining into the eyes of oncoming traffic they are not adjusted properly. Don't blame the fog light, blame the idiot driving them around. I see just as many headlights out of adjustment as I do fog lights.
