Difference between 3500 and 2500

What is the difference between the 3500 and 2500 other than extra leaf springs and option of DRW?

Add airbags to the 2500 and you could put more it in than a 3500 SRW. Not legally of course, you are still restricted by the door sticker in that regard.

Note that a 3500 DRW will haul substantially more in the bed than any SRW, even with airbags. You get to a point where 2 tires just isn't enough.

i don't know, i had a 2500 last year and now a 3500. i can put the same amount in each truck, both short boxes. i don't see anything on the door saying i can put more in the bed,the axles are the same so why would it go higher???
i have air bags, but both trucks did.
rims have a weight rating, tires do too, an axle of course does as well.

FWIW, they also came with standard factory cab lights at least in 04.5.

I didn't care whether I got a 2500 or 3500.....but they were basically the same price when I was looking.....so I figured why not take the 3500? And then I found my truck and bought it.

..

same here...bought the '04.5 3500 off the lot at a year end clearance sale. priced the same as similar 2500s. the body color, bed length, and those cool cab lights meant more to me than the gvwr.

wish i had kept it, but certainly have no complaints about the '06 2500

You can legally put 1000# more in the bed of a 3500. The price difference was $300 when I bought mine so why not! My 05 had cab lights as standard equip. My 07 does not have the cab lights.
