I pulled my badges off today. If not for the '07 style "heavy duty 2500" badges being a little stubborn it would've only taken an hour to do the whole truck. I used fishing line to slice behind them and cleaned off the remaining adhesive with elbow grease and mineral spirits. There are some minor swirl marks in the paint though where I rubbed the adhesive off. Can anyone recommend a good way to get those out of there?

A good wash and wax will smooth it all out and you'll never know..

Yes, a little rubbing compound or waxing will do the trick.

I used the fishing line and some 3m adhessive remover from walmart. The fishing line leaves a lot of adhesive on the truck, then spray the remover on it, let set for a few minutes, then spray again, repeat a few times, the it just wipes right off. The first side I tried to wipe too soon and it worked me to death. The other side and tailgate I just kept spraying and waiting and it wiped right off.

Just did it today. Took me 2 hours but it was my first time. I did the fishing line and 3m adhesive remover from Walmart. I also had a plastic putty knife and used it as well. It was slow going, I left the CTD one as I like it.

I went to Napa and took a look at that eraser wheel and thought it might eat through my paint. I'm sure you guys didn't have a problem, but I didn't want to mess around with it. I really like how it turned out.

Pick up some "Goo-B-Gone" at the dollar store. Way cheaper than any automotive place.

I have to take my '07 badges off - they're really not growing upon me!

I removed those gawd awful door emblems from my 2007 - I used a flat blade screwdriver and literally pried them off! Actually it worked pretty well - I never let the tool touch the paint and just got it under the edge of the emblem and pulled. The R A M letters broke apart and came off separately, but the big lower plate popped off in one piece. It left most of the adhesive tape intact, and that made it pretty easy to just roll the tape off with my fingers. I had the eraser wheel all ready to go but I didn't need it. There was just a slight amount of adhesive residue left which I removed with rubbing alcohol.

Got mine done today. Used the eraser wheel from Napa on my drill and worked great. Started with a nylon putty knife and Goo gone but the eraser wheel worked awesome. Used fishing line and then the wheel ripped it right off with no marks. A little Megiuers cleaner/polish and all done. Took about an hour total. Left the Cummins "C" as I like it.
