I haven't removed the decal on the back yet...still debating. I took off the Cummins emblem, but thinking about putting it back on. However, most people know it's a diesel when they see the smoke

Thanks ShawnQ. I think i'm gonna have to do it and possible de-chrome like yours I didn't want the chrome in the first place. Very nice truck though.

My question exactly, how to remove the badges without hurting the paint or taking it to a body shop..?

Are you an outdoorsman?

If so, get yourself some fishing line (20lb or better will be easier). Braided line works best, but it's expensive if you don't already have some.

Cut about 15 inches of it, wrap it around each hand with about 6" in between your hands. Run the line behind the emblem and use the line like a cheese slicer to 'saw' off the adhesive tape.

After the emblems are off, buy yourself a 3M 'eraser' wheel for your drill, and 'erase' the residue (It doesn't hurt paint).

Then use a liquid adhesive remover to clean up any additional spots.

Be sure to wax the truck after you use that eraser and adhesive remover, not to mention the area where the emblems were have never seen wax.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the compliment.

On my truck, other than the chrome removal, the blacked out B-Pillars between the two windows is what made the most noticable difference. Take a look at the before and after pics I posted and you'll see what I mean. The all black window area looks much better in my opinion compared to being split up by the white pillar. That was cheap, $20 at the local vinyl shop and it's holding up well.

Heck, I didn't even notice till you said something. That's purtty darn cool. So you just got some black vinyl and stuck it on there? with double sided tape or what? Very cool look..

No double sided tape needed. The vinyl itself is adhesive.

Head over to any sticker/graphics/sign shop in Austin and they will take care of it. Mine was $20 installed here in San Antonio, took him about 10 minutes total.

If you've got a light colored truck...it makes a big difference. It's less noticable on the darker colors, obviously, because it doesn't contrast as much.

If you are ever in S.A., let me know and I'll give you the name/number of the place who did mine.

De-chromed and de-badged mine too. I left the Mega Cab roof pillar emblems, and the Ram on the tailgate alone though. It doesn't look like a rolling Dodge billboard as much now.

Now just black out that B-Pillar and you'll be set!

Nice truck, by the way...love the mega-duallys.

I'm still up in the air regarding the decal on the back...I'll wait until the decal gets it's first scratch, then pull it off. May be a while though, they are pretty tough

Sharp truck. It appears great minds think alike. The blacked out B-Pillar looks good on your truck, but I photoshopped mine and it didn't look right to me on the mega.

truck looks mighty clean Shawn!

I like the 3rd gen trucks shaved, but I'd probably have to leave my Cummins emblem on if I had one

2nd gen trucks, I like it when everything except the door badges are shaved

I'm considering going with a Bushwacker Extend-a-Fender, so I didn't want to put the 'C' logo back on just yet. Once I have the fender flares, I'll put it back on somewhere (hopefully I can find room up front, otherwise it may be on the door).

We'll see.

And, Forrest..I know how you feel about the decal already...you knew you didn't have to mention it

Good to 'hear' from ya. I've still got two fox coupes, BTW...projects, projects, projects!

Loco.Breath....

I am not a big fan of 2wd drive trucks or the Mega Duallys. But DANG your truck looks nice. You may have changed my mind. Sweet looking ride.

You need to come to our next N.Texas get together.
