Death wobble (help)
caster is an alignment spec it describes the angle of a line from your upper to lower ball joints, or axis of rotation when you steer. so +4deg caster means that your upper ball joint is more towards the rear of the vehicle. it is adjusted by turning the eccentrics on the lower control arms that push the lower ball joint more forward or back. increased positive caster helps the steering return to center better and a lot of people find it can help death wobble.
Thank all replys I ordered new shocks and will have them put on next thurs. had a dual stabalizer and it is a lot better will keep posted
What does a a BD track bar do?

Those of you posting that the problem is the tires, do you have anything backing that up? i've run bfg's on all sorts of vehicles, including my 05, never have the tires played a role in any death wobble i have experienced. I had dw on my tj, xj, and K5 and every single time it was alignment, or worn ball joints. One occasion it was due to improper alignment as the specs the shop was using were not accurate. Chrysler, for a time, had the toe set too far in or out (dont recall which it was) in the books. Toe'd the tj in 1 extra degree, within spec, and problem solved (maybe it was two degrees, its been awhile). The larger tires will only make it more pronounced since they cover more roadway surface. I would start by looking for loose or worn parts, that seems to be the cause more often than not.
107K, running Michelins and the DW is still here
I had to go to NC(I95/85) yesterday, and I experienced BIG,BAD wobble I haven't had in at least 10K miles. It seems to only happen at "higher" speeds, and after a bump in the road, or overpass seems to get it started. It goes away, after shutting off the afterburners, and slowing to sub 75mph. The highest speed it occurred at,was 80 or so, mph. What is a good upgrade for the shocks on this truck? And also the steering stabilizer ? My BJs were replaced, and the front-end re-aligned approx. 10K miles ago,at my selling dealer.I'm running light duty Michelins, that make the truck ride/handle, and yes, improve fuel economy, ALOT better than OEM tires. And can someone please inform me how to kill the "back-up warning" for when the driver's door is open, and the truck is in reverse. I have hatred for this "feature"! Also, what happens in Va., when one gets a "wreckless,by speeding" (must appear) ticket ? I've heard they are heavy fines for this...I was late to a funeral, and went thru "stationary radar" ... the only patrol car I saw, going,or on the return trip! 230 miles each way! I'm thinkin' I need a lawyer for this one...

Seriously though, if you have a friend with a RAM try swapping tires/wheels.
ive been having DW problems with my truck as well, less then 42k on the truck and its stock down to the last bolt at the moment... i deployed out this june and so im paying alot of cash to get a lift, new tires, Steering stabalizer, new ball joints... pretty much a new front end and hope and pray that that kills the DW, ill keep you all posted.
(btw im not the orig owner on this truck but the undercarage looks brand new still has shiney black laccor paint and everything) still i get DW
