dash rug
Anyone have one?? If so, how does it look?
I have the (to my eyes) black dash and the glare is bad sometimes and thinking about getting a dash rug. Not sure if it will look tacky though.
Also, what color would look better..black or charocal?
Thanks

I have a light gray one in my truck. I can't say that I particularly care for the look of it (not quite tacky but close; although the fit is impeccable). The main reason I have it and that it is light gray is because it keeps the interior of the cab considerably cooler in the summer. I would say there must be about a 15 to 20 degree difference between before and after. I don't have my digital camera with me this week or I would have posted a pic for you

I got the Ultimat dash cover and I'm very happy with the quality, fit, and appearance. Total cost was $39.95 including shipping from the following link:

I have the Ultimat on the truck, a Dashmat on one car, and a homemade 'half dash mat' on another. I really don't like glare, I guess it's optics being part of a couple of hobbies, and find that under some conditions the typical dash has so much glare that it's dangerous. I have a black Ultimat and even spray painted it flat black to get it blacker. The Ultimat has a very good fit, much better than the Dashmat on the car. If you're curious about how much difference it could make get some flat black wool felt, and just cut it so it fits on the dash on the driver's side. Remember, you're just trying an idea out, not upholstering a show rig.

I have a dashmat that was made in a booth at a swap meet in Yuma Az. this spring. My truck is interior is toupe and it is a perfect match. It is a carpet type of texture and I put my radar detector on it with a small piece of velcro. They had all the paterns made up and all of the Dodge and brand x colors.
It was made to order and took about 1/2 hour and $20.00 US.
