dash rattle?

I've had my 07 for less than 2 weeks...and was on a somewhat long drive this morning scouting for geese to hunt this Saturday..........anyway....

the whole way there was a very annoying dash rattle that appears to be coming from the cluster or behind the cluster....anyone had any of this?

I hope this isn't the start of probems.....I've driven the truck a little over 1,000 miles since I got it.......and didn't have that vibration till today....

mine has done it since new as well. dodge boys can't seem to "find" the problem and at one point they said they could not duplicate the noise. I grabbed the tech and we went for a drive and duh, there it was. They don't know so I just turn up the radio and going to wait til it breaks. I complain about it now and then because knowing my luck, it will break after warranty is dun and I will be hosed. If I keep complaining of it then I have a chance they will cover it then.

IF you do a search you will find several times this has happened and everyone seems to have had a different rattle. Mine was an AC line routed against the fender. Fixed it with some styrofoam around the line behind the battery box. Look for pictures in my photo gallery.

I've had a "knock" for a month or so. Happens when coasting to a stop on wash-board road, or coasting around a parking lot...mainly during a left-hand turn.

Sounds like it was coming the foot area on passenger side....possibly passenger side of tunnel, under dash...etc.

I removed EVERYTHING. Took off antenna, removed glove box completely...etc.

Made my neighbor drive around with my this past Sat. He spent 30 minutes all upside-down with his head down in the footwell while I idled around a parking lot on base.

The findings: There is something loose INSIDE the heater box. You can put your hand right on the spot you can almost see, right under the glove box and you can FEEL whatever it is clunking around. NOT all the time, mind you...but it is there.

Sadly, my Viper-tech friend informed me today that it is likely the dash will need to come out.

My 07 has one too in what sounds to be the same location as scvipermads and the dodge place in town isnt the most freindly with me nor the most competent. I will be watching this one.

Yup, I got one too. Less than 2k miles and it started, found out that it is the top piece of plastic on the steering column. If I put my finger on it, it stops.... I will have the dealer mess with it when I get my free oil change.

njhonker, look under the hood and see if your tranny dipstick tube is hitting the a/c lines. That's where my rattle was coming from, someone else here said to look there so it must be a common thing.

I also have this low vibration noise, which seems to be comign from the passenger foot area. It all started after I had the AC door problem fixed at the dealer. Hard par tis that it is sporadic, and I do not hear it while driving, only in park, or within 5mph once in a while.
I wonder if it'll do any good to bring it into dealer, as my warrantly just went elapsed. 3k miles ago.

Got the same rattle and it was driving me nuts. Almost sounds like it was coming from right behind the instrument cluster. I have not been able to locate it exactly, but a drive from Alaska to Illinois almost killed me. A couple times I wanted to tear the whole dash apart to find the noise...
