Dash bezel Tricks

I just got an 08 dash bezel to replace my ugly wood bezel in my 06. Are there any tricks to removeing the bezel around the radio? Does it just pull off?Any help would be great. I don't wanna break anything!

If I remember right it just pops off. It is easy if you start in the upper left corner. Set the ebrake and move the shifter down out of the way, if it is an auto. Grab and pull.

There will be two screws on that screw up from the bottom of the dash up into the bezel. On an auto with the flipout cup holders there are instantly accesible. With a floor mounted cup holders, (standard trans and or t case) you have to start with the floor mounted trays and work your way in. Its not more than about six or seven screws....

I know the bezel I have only has 2 spots for what it looks like for screws to go into. The rest looks like it just snaps in

When you look at the bezel the screws will be at the bottom and screw upwards, to get to those screws depends on what type of lower dash setup you have, but yes those will be the only two screws. The rest just pops out and snaps in.

Having the manual you will probably have to go the long route and take out the floor cup holders and work inwards from there, but like i said its not very hard just take your time and go easy not to break any plastic parts.

I removed the bezel from my '07. It's an auto, with factory floor console. What a pain in the neck that was. Somewhere on the web I found a great set of instructions, complete with pictures.

Here it is, I found it: http://documents.victorytechnologies...oduct/8567.pdf

I had to start by removing the transfer case shift boot, and start removing things from the cup holder near the seat, and then on foreward to the dash. It was like a puzzle, where you have to remove one piece before removing the next. Whoever had that assembly job at the factory must have drawn the short straw.

Once you figure that out, it was pretty easy and didn't take much time at all.

When youput it back together dont put those 2 screws back in it.... The bezel will stay in place (mine does, and it doesnt sqeek either) and make it easier to remove if you ever have to get back in there for something.

Is there something special about the 08 bezel? Do you have photos?

Mine must be different. The entire bezel around the radio has always just popped off. No screws. I have the bucket seats but that should not make a difference when it comes to the radio bezel. Maybe the entire console/dash is not the same on a standard. Mine is an auto.

I did not remove the cup holder. All I did was pryed on the cover until it started to lift then you can pull it right off. It's held on by 4 snap type devices. Reinstalled by simply tapping it back , easy.
