Towing and weight in the bed are different. Because you can tow 15000 pounds is not the same as 15000 pounds in the bed of your truck. Just stating a fact you were over the max weight for your rear axle. Not to take away the fact that I like how the truck is set up and am thinking about a longbed conversion myself.

I think I read 6700 somewhere which isn't horrible, but it's still way too much.

Whats the rear axle weigh empty? The 11.5" AAM axle is rated by AAM at 10,940lbs. With 6720lbs of concrete in the bed,that leaves 4220lbs for the empty weight of the rear axle.
I don't think the dually axle weighs that much empty does it?
My point is,its way overloaded by Dodge's specs,maybe not by AAM's specs.
