Cost of tinting windwos?

This weekend I am planning on getting my two front cab windows tinted with 3M-35% window film. The local tint shop said the cost of tint has gone up in the last few weeks three times. So, now they have to charge me $100.00 US plus local tax to install the tint. Two months ago when I got the original qoute the price was qouted at $68.00 US, but is now $100.00 US. I have quoted other shops out of town and they wanted the same price, but the film was not a film I was familiar with or could find any rewiews.

Has anybody else ran into this price increase?

I am ok with paying the extra cost since he is comming in on Saturday to do my truck and this works better with my schedule, since his store is normally closed on Saturday.

I had my whole truck done for 140. including the windsheild. 100 for two windows is too high. 150 at most places would pay for the 4 side windows and the rear slider.

sounds right to me.

$110 for both sides a windshield strip, i think,

lifetime warranty.

i will say this: one place did my 04 - and they were PERFECT matched to rears. think the brand was LLUMAR.

the 06 was done different town, and if you look out the side, the front and rear are noticable different.

maybe someone who had it done recent can remember the brand and %, but i liked all the windows to match.

hth?

I paid $75 for the front two.. cut on a machine with a lifetime warranty. I dont know how you guys are getting it done so cheap. My buddy used to tint for a living and you usually get what you pay for. Cheap film is no good.

If its guaranteed go for it Good tint is well worth it I had mine done with 5% all the way around and the windshield I think it was $180.00 I'd pay twice that been using the same guy for 12 years. If you know them and have seen their work I'd do it. Whay are you going so light??

I had my two side windows and the sunstrip on the front windshield done for a little under $70. Mine were done at 20% on the sides and 5% on the sunstrip. This was right before x-mas of 06.

Mine is only a strip at the top. Its illegal in OK to tint the whole windshield, of course its also illegal to have 5% tint. WHOOPS.

Got mine done about a month ago for 90 + tax. Two front doors and the rear window since the rear door were already done...

I wouldn't pay much over 30 per window.

I may do 5% again on mine sometime soon. I keep some of my tools in the cab overnight very often and I don't want any prowling eyes with sticky fingers seeing a score.
