Clutch= sore hip

I really love my truck but now wish I had gotten an auto.
I dislocated my left hip years ago and didn't give it much though when I bought my truck but it gets to killing some times.
My thought is.. if some one has a nearly identical truck and wanted to trade for a stick and is maybe some what near by maybe we could work something out.
I have 30k on her and have had no issue with it except for the rt mirror motor.

its not the best thing for syncros but you can shift them with out the clutch and just use it taking off and stopping.

I know how to do it but its not good for it. Would rather hurt my hip than hurt my truck

Wow, really? How much would it cost to replace that hip vs. replace the transmission? I'm betting the hip would be more expensive.

Honestly all it takes is some practice and before to long you would almost never grind a gear

Back in the dark ages I used to shift without the clutch on my old Jeep CJ's and, you might very well be able to do it with the NV4500's and 5600's but these new 6speeds are tight.

I go clutchless when I get lazy, or tired after a long job. With the short shifter though it becomes a task to not grind 5th and 6th, its all in pulling it out of gear at the right time. But it sounds just like a rig when I blip the throttle and jam another gear...

I just had my right hip replaced in April and though I haven't received a bill yet as I am double insured it was something over $50,000 for the hospital alone, this did not include any doctors. I can empathize with the OP as the pain before the replacement was severe. I also know Phoenix traffic but fortunately I haven't been back there to drive since about 1991 and it has only gotten worse.

Rip, I recognize it's just a simple comment but, you hit a nerve and I have to vent.

I really get tired of people, my father included, that think I don't know how to drive just because I find it difficult to shift my truck without a clutch. Not one of those people own or, have ever driven with a G56. My father won't even try to drive my truck but, that's another story.

It was easy with my 72 Datsun and all 4 of Jeeps CJ's. But my dodge, like my old Alpha Romeo just don't like it.

I know the NV5600 guys can do it. It's a "loose" transmission. The G56 is different critter.

Ok, I feel better now.

Cheers

I can sympathize with you. I just spent 17 hours behind the wheel last Saturday pulling my 5th wheel, and my left hip has been killing me. Lots of shifting up and down grades, tons of stop signs, and too much wheel time. I was determined to get home though.

I'm sure I will have to get the hip replacement surgery at some point, but I'll wait until it hurts so bad I can't stand it anymore.

Roger.

I didn't mean to sound terse there. I'm just getting cranky in my old age.
