? on Clearance lights

Is it possible to change the lens color on the clearance lights? Will this interfere with any laws regarding emergency vehicle lighting?

Dot regs call for the color of lights pointing foreward to be amber to white.

Lights pointing rear must be amber to red in color.

You can use anyting between white and amber on the front.

I have a friend who owns a tractor trailer and he installed a couple of black lights under his rig and he caught a lot of hassle and tickets for them.....
