Mine doesn't always work the same, sometimes it works awesome, and other times I'm sweating. I've got a temp probe in the vent almost all the time, just to see.

When it works good, man it works good. 100 degree day, truck sitting outside pretty much heat soaked. Crank it up, turn ac on high recirculate, and within 5 minutes the air blowing out is at 43 degrees with the fan on high. Then other times, 55 is as low as the temp will get coming out of the vents.

My 2006's AC has been cold since day one, even after having the blend door issue and the whole system apart and re-charged, cold like it should be. My truck is Atlantic Blue in color, so it's a heat magnet/heat soak, cools down and gets cold in 100+ temps very fast.

I've been looking at a vintage air gen IV system. The evap unit runs about $700. It comes with all of the duct work and controls. Every thing on this system is servo controlled(no vaccum). I think it might be cheaper to retrofit one of these rather than making repairs to our faulty systems.

As far as a class action, I'm all in. I don't feel like I got what I paid for. That is BS.

I added another can a few weeks ago and it seemed to make it a little cooler. I used one of those cheap fill gages that you get at the local auto parts store, and the fill level was still low after this. I wonder If I need more? I don't think I can hurt anything.

Trying to sue Dodge over the AC in these trucks would be a giant waste of time. The AC has been weak in these trucks for years and everybody knows it. Live with it, fix it, or sell it. Yes, mine is weak and has been from day one. The HVAC system is just a bad design. I really like my Ram but it will be my last.

My AC is relatively weak. My truck is a regular cab, I pitty those who have this same AC system in a Mega Cab.

My truck is out of 3/36 warranty next month, so I'm going to see if I can get the dealer to check it out before then. I had the blend door done shortly after I got the truck last year.

I pulled this from another site. But its what I'm gonna do.

Factory Air p/n 84707 and you can usually order it from AdvanceAuto. It keeps the hot water from circulating through the heater core and thus your AC doesn't have to cool the hot cabin PLUS hot water in the heater core.

One thing I have noticed on my QC is if I point the air ducts towards the back, it tends to freeze out the rear and seems to avoid the front passengers. I normally adjust the (2) driver ducts towards me and the one to the back. The wife almost always has the far one turned off. The fan is rarely past the 2nd speed and always on recirculation with A/C. This works for us, you may be doing the same and freezing out the rear.

In both of my trucks when it works, it works great. My problem is with things breaking or shorting and not working at all.

I could understand "weak" a/c, but NOT "no" a/c.

325k on the 06 and dont have a single problem cooling this truck off in East Texas heat. Took a trip to elpaso last weekend and had to kick it up one notch, but it was 104 degrees outside, so it was understandable. It will freeze my butt off at idle all night long! Father in laws 08 will do the same thing at 98k. :shrugs:

Mine has been fine since day 1. It was also good on the '99 I traded in. I was driving around yesterday with the fan on the lowest setting and I was freezing.

the fan on the lowest setting will always give you the coldest air temp coming out of the vent

Mine will get cool - cold while driving down the road - but stop and idle and you might as well go sit in the bed because it's gonna get hot. Just as an expirement today when i washed the truck i let it set and idle w/ ac cranked and of course it got hot and started kicking off against the high press switch. I took the garden hose and shot the radiator for a while and went in the cab and it was cold as ever. So it's obviously a problem of not enough air over the radiator. The problem is how to fix it - i don't have but maybe 3/4" of space from the front radiator to the hood/grill... no room for a fan. I would have pointed fingers at the viscous fan clutch, but the coolant temp never goes over 210, so it's doing its job. I'm stumped, and hot too!!! It's been a hot summer in houston and i'm about fed up with this thing!!!

There's a Be Cool pusher fan that will fit in front of the condenser. P/N 75059
