clank hard right turn

hello,

have have my truck now for about 7 months and have noticed that if i have to make a hard 90 degree turn to the right from a stand still i hear a clank from the front of the truck. sounds like it it coming from by the left front wheel area. wonder what it might be and i want to address this while under warrenty.

thanks,

Some have said it comes from hitting the stops when turning lock to lock. I have a rattle / clunk in my steering column also, but my truck does it too.

nope, can not feel anything. just hear it. i pulled my airstream to detroit from san diego and noticed it while pulling out of my mother's drive way. had to make the 90 degree turn after pulling out.

does not sound normal so guess i will ask the *******, er, dealer during my next service.

thanks,

david

Can't call a dealer that anymore on this site, gives them a bad name? tarring them all with the same brush? only getting one side of the story?not all dealers are --ealers? all of the above? anyway that word is a no no.

Mine just started to make this same noise after I installed my 4.5" tuff country lift. I suspect it is the track bar mount, which is on the drivers side. The Tuff Country kit uses a track bar relocation bracket that has you drilling a couple of 1/2" holes through some existing frame gussets. I think I need to go in and retorque all those bolts (and the track bar bolt itself) You might try re-torquing the track bar mounting bolt.

my '03 has been doing it for 52000+ miles on hard right turns and a bounce that makes the suspension articulate. Just something to keep you awake from Dodge.......JIM

My truck has done this about 3 times and when I try to make it happen I can't. I don't want to take it to the dealer and look like a nut when it won't do it for them. Did you notice any way to make this happen? My dealer has been very good to me in the last 11 years so all are not the same.

Last time mine did it I was pulling in a driveway from the street so there was also at least a foot high incline. Guy was in the center of the driveway and I turned hard right to get in past him. He must have heard it cause he jumped a mile and backed up to let me in. Never heard it on flat ground, seems to need a rise as well.
