Talking Check Out My Air Ride Seats!!!!

Check out my Industrial air ride seat using my own seats & I have the use of my electric seat with all the adjustments. It saved me $900 not having to use the seats made for the suspension by modifying the seat & attaching them to the air ride mechanism. I know factory seats aren't the best, but they'll do for me. I use a tiny $10 air compressor from Walmart, put it in the lower center console & hooked the air up with an air stem epoxied with fiberglass cloth to hold the 1/4" air line in stem. I didn't have to use an air tank or drill any holes in either my body or bed, neither did I have to run the air lines or compressor wire under the door trim & carpet. I'm only about 1" higher than stock with air in it. Along with my Kelderman air ride on the rear which made it ride better than a half ton ( I verified that by riding in one right before & right after) Now he rides like new Lincoln or Cadillac maybe a little stiffer. Took it to I-12 near O'neal Lane, a killer for asphalt patches & expansion joint death dips, & he rode great with no jarring to my back. I did it to my wife's seat too, so both of us have a great ride. Sweeeeeeet.

groran, where did you get your air ride mechanism from? I checked with one that was shown on this site a couple of months ago. Contacted the co. and they advised I had to use there seats and that oem seats wouldn't work. Yeah right!!
They wanted 1300.00 per seat for all accessories? I'm interested in your set up.

Link to suspensions

http://www.industrialseats.com/pgr.a...&categoryID=23

They were $714 shipped, that's both driver & passenger suspensions & the center console brackets. Remember you have to remove your seats from factory frame, grind off factory welded brad looking do hickeys, weld angle, drill holes & attach. I also modified the Industrial suspension brackets to drop the whole thing down another 1 1/2" down so I wouldn't be so high when inflated.

Nice work! I think I'd paint the air suspension to match or blend in with the carpet though.

Here is the modified bracket

The main bracket was cut then 1 1/2" was added to it on the front, then 3/4" on the back. Flat steel bar is at Home Depot. This lowered the frame to the floor to compensate for the increased height of the Industrial seat frame. Man my wife was plum giddy on the first ride, because we take all our longer trips in BIG RED, she & I both appreciate this mod.

That is exactly how I installed mine. Cut the brackets down level to the floor.
You really don't need the console brackets. I made up a pair for about 2 dollars
I have over 100k on my air seat suspension and it is still like new. About 20 lbs of air in the seat is right for my weight.

I am interested in installing an air suspension seat system in my '06 Ram 1 ton because it rides so rough. Did your air suspension system improve the ride in your truck considerably or not so much?

Groran, is your front seat a 40/60 seat? If not, did the Industrial air suspension kit just install under the passenger side without difficulty?
