Changed out the stereo and now the truck does a few things differently?

So I put my new Pioneer DVD deck in (which is very sweet btw) last week and I hooked up everything as per instruction. I also disconnected my batteries just to be safe. Everything on the truck works fine but now when I open my door that annoying chime rings constantly as if I left my lights on and when I hit the lock button on my key fob it no longer honks or flashes the lights. Any ideas?

Thanks!

That's odd. I know in some Chevy vehicles the radio acts as an interface to the vehicle's computer for certain things. I wonder if that's the case here. I have no idea but I'm curious to find out!

Was it a plug in harness or did you do some splicing? It sounds like you might have tapped into an illumination circuit. Google for a Dodge 22-way radio connector pinout. Maybe that will shed some light on this.

Good Luck

Chris

This was on the 04 correct? Problems like that are common on the newer Can-bus vehicle but the 04 doesn't have that. Did you do something for the infinity amp? You must have tapped into some other wiring....

Just did a indash dvd in my brothers 07.5. Didnt have any problems like this. Even integrated the steering wheel controls on the can bus. im leaning on tapping a wrong wire.

That would be because you used a specific can-bus wiring harness if not, strange things WILL happen, I can garentee you that.

Anybody know if there's a way to add an iPod dock to an 06 six-disc w/ satellite and NOT have to change the stereo?

I would like to add this as well. Kills me that you "upgrade" to a 6 disk and dont get a ipod jack but you get them on the single disk units.

PAC-CY2 or PAC-CHY is what you need.

I do have the infinity system. But the harness I bought is designed to keep the infinity system intact. I'm going to pull it apart again sometime this week and check over the wiring again.

Absolutely things will happen. Perfect example of why people should not just tap wires without knowing what they are tapping. Todays ECM's are not cheap.....

I googled both and only got a hit for th CHY. This does not allow you to add the single jack to the front of the radio like the stock unit has right? By the looks of the kit online it has the large box with 4 holes in it, two of which are listed as gains and two as inputs.
