are those

the rings that go behind your wheel? If so, they work great on semi's we own, but as far as a pickup i dont know, would imagine they would be great, if this is what your talking about

I've got em and love em. I just through my unbalanced spare on there (last time this tire was mounted it needed 8oz) and it rides smooth as silk.

Yep, those are exactly what I am looking at. I have a brand new truck, with brand new tires and a 2" leveling kit. With only 900 miles on the truck, the tires start making the front end of the truck wobble, and the steering wheel wobbles back and forth.

So, I rebalanced the tires and corrected the alignment. It still does it. My girlfriend has driven next to me and says that it looks like the tires are bouncing some.

I put a set of stock tires back on it, and it never does it. So it has to be the tires. They have 100 miles on them.

I think that these will help correct any imbalance that I have.

Thanks big blue. I knew that some of you guys have them. I am going to order them tomorrow. I need to order a set for my Kenworth, but I will have to wait for those. BTW, your truck in your gallery looks awesome. I really like it.

I would like to hear from anyone that had a tire problem (bouncing, wobbling) and these corrected it.

glad we could help

They are around 150 bucks for the semi's and they are great, stops the shakes and stops the tires from cupping, which saves a ton of money.

Let me know how the ones for your truck do because when i lift mine and add rims I might need them if they do well

Is it best (cheapest) to buy them direct or are there distributors?

How do these compare to the balancing beads that go in the tires? Which is better and why?

I have used both balancing beads and Centramatics, and personally prefer the Centramatics for two reasons:
First, the Centramatics stay on the truck regardless of tires, since I use both summer and winter tires, that saves me the hassle of having to put beads in two sets of tires.
Second, I get a fair amount of flats unfortunately, and with the beads the odds are great that you will lose most if not all of the beads when you get your tire fixed; not to mention the fact that the goop the mechanics use to put the tires back on the rims really messes up the way the beads work.
I have had Centramatics on for over two years now and couldn't be happier with them.

So you guys that are happy with the Centramatics: Did they make the ride smoother, make your tires last longer, or are you happy with them just because you haven't had any problems with them? I mean did they actually do something for your truck? Thanks a lot. J

I have been happy with the Centramatics because they made my ride smoother indeed. Too early to tell yet whether or not they will improve tire life as I already had a fair amount of miles on my current tires when I installed them, not to mention that alignment and tire pressure affect tire life considerably as well.

Were you having some vibration issues with your tires before the centramatics, even though they were balanced? That is what I have now. I know that the Centramatics aren't a fix all, but they look like a great product, and should help the ride of my truck.

The wobble you are talking about is called death wobble and isn't neccesarily caused by unbalanced tires. Do a search on death wobble and sit down with your favorite drink and have fun reading.

2 good reason!
I have alot of flats too and I worried about how the beads would react to plug being stuck in the tire when I catch a nail. Usually once a month and I find it odd that it always hits the rear tire on my trailer!! Every time!!!
In Texas we don't need winter tires because it goes from Hot to Mild... with 5-10 days of wearing a medium coat...(that's if it rains)

Good info... I found them on Ebay new for $175 +$10 shipping is that a good price?
