My center console map lights will not come on when you push them, but will come on when you open the door or roll the dimmer switch all the way up. Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas what the problem could be? I have thought about trying to replace the headlight/dimmer switch but have not had the time to get one and try it.

 

One of my overhead console lights fell apart. Covered by warrenty. Replaced whole console unit. Evidently the switches are not serviced seperatly. Do you still feel a 'click' when you push on the lights? See several overhead consoles on e-bay just about all the time.

Yes I still feel the click in the light when pushed. The funny thing is, if you roll the dimmer switch all the way forward to the indentation where all the dome lights come on the center console lights come on and you can push the light and it will click and turn on/off. But if the dimmer switch is not in the dome light ON position the console lights will not come on when pushed. Worked fine one day then quit working fine the next. Typical electrical problems.

 

Had the same prob with the drivers side two weeks after getting my truck. Dealer replaced the light, no charge.
