Cab size
Hey all, My current rig is a Y2k QC SWB 4X2 with auto and 3.54's and a whopping 47,000 miles. My kids are getting a little bigger and it seems I may need to get a 4 door. I haven't checked out a '03 closely, but, the doors appear to be not much bigger that my QC. In fact the main doors seem smaller. I'm also a big guy (6'7" and need all the leg room I can get. Can you give me your thoughts on the new cabs? I'd hate to go Chevy or Ford (I really love the Cummins!) but they seem to have bigger cabs. If the new cab isn't much bigger, I'll keep what I got, but, the four doors sure would make life a little easier. (sigh)

And although it seems alot of folks like the new "quietness" I absolutley love the Rattlin and Shakin of my Y2K! Ahh decisions, decisions.

Thanks!

Re:Cab size
Welcome, Crabster. ;D

I'm also one of the big guys and have sat in the front and back of the new QC's. More than enough room in front (they've added some seat travel) and I can best describe the rear seat room as "adequate." I can sit back there, but would not want to do it for long trips. For kids - no problem.

I had a '98 QC SWB 4x4 2500 and the back seat was tight. There's more room in the back of the '03 than my '98 - I'm not sure how much more room, but it's noticeable.

Best to y'all
Bill

Crabster,

6'4" and I cannot put the seat all the way back and drive comfortably. So, in "MY" position, I can still sit behind the driver's seat comfortably. It is definitely not as big as the other two, but I like the shorter wheel base and still seat four, or five, or six. Would not want to cross the US in the back, but the front is sure nice.

Welcome.

Bob

Re:Cab size
Gentlemen - I'm 6'5 250# and I fit just fine even in the back seat of my '03 Ram QC. Now, there's no way I want to stay back there for any length of time, but that's related more to the fun in the driver's seat than any problems with the back seat!

Ditto to that LonCray, Too much fun in that left front seat with all the buttons, pedals, levers, wheels and dials. Our grandkins found the back seat of our 98 to be adequate for their needs. These teenagers rode there from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone. Give them their personal CD Player and/or electronic games space to pile their junk and they are in their own world.
