Just talked to my dealer yesterday. He told me that the Ram cab and chassis that was on display at the Las Vegas dealer show was indeed a 4500 with new Cummins diesel will be available in 60" cab to axle and 84" c/a the correct 34" frame width and will be available in standard and quad cab configurations. The 5500 will follow soon after a summer 2006 intro for the 4500.

So will the 5500 be available my septemeber? Do you know if they will offer it in 4x4? I need a new one and don't really wanna buy a ford or chevy 5500.

 

I'm really not sure how long it will be before the 5500 arrives. The fellow from the dealer just said that the 4500 model was displayed there at the show. The GVW was 14,500 and the 5500 was going to be 18,500. I really think that they are way under estimating the demand for these trucks if they make them the way it sounds like they are going to make them. According to what they are saying these trucks are going to become the benchmark for all the rest. I have owned Dodge Trucks for 30yrs. we'll see.

 

Wonder if DC will offer a 4500 with a 8ft. pickup bed, for the truck camper market?
