A/C not working right
My A/C works while I am driving but not when I am stopped, after driving it will work for maybe 2 min and then just blows air not cold air. Heater works fine though. I checked the refridgerant and it's good. The clutch on the A/C cycles on and stays on for 5-10 seconds then shuts off for anywhere from a minute to two minutes then cycles back on for 5-10 seconds. anyone have any ideas where to start in fixing this one? I don't know much about fixing A/C and don't have alot of money and it's hot here in NC.
the ac system on these trucks just sucks. mine does the same thing and the fan clutch doesn't engage like it should with the AC on (and its a new one also). While recharging mine recently i watched the high side pressure go through the roof just sitting at idle because there is not enough airflow over the condensor and it will shut compr. off. best fix i've heard of is adding an aux fan in front of condensor that can be turned on manually.
yeah i figured it had something to do with the fan clutch because mine is the thermo controlled fan clutch and the wire got cut when I got it stuck in the mud maybe if I fix that my problem will get solved?
I need a fin brush, and the vent isn't blocked so, but like I said it worked a couple months back then all of a sudden it would only work when I was moving it runs for a minute when I stop then starts to warm up and then just recycles the air in the cab without cooling.
