Busted Foglight On Maiden Voyage

Can anyone help with the R&R procedure and part numbers for the fog light on a new Dodge Ram 2500? I don't have a clue what happened but it got blown out on our first trip out. The light still works, but the front lens is completely broken out. Is the Mopar replacement a complete unit, or can I just replace the lens? Should I buy this part at the dealer, or is there an online Mopar accessories place that offers a discount? Thanks.

I blew a bulb on a fog light which was covered under warranty, but if the lens was cracked or broken it isn't, just as your windshield isn't. Unless they can see it was a factory defect or something like that- good luck.

I feel your pain I just did the same thing to mine in the last snow storm. So while I was in the dealership today for recall work and a loose clamp on the power steering I priced one. OUCH! The only way they sell it is complete with the bulb for $130 and change. I will try and find a salvage yard for that much. I will post back if I have anyluck.

I would definitely try and get it replaced under warranty. The lense must have been defective to have fallen out on your first trip with the truck, not properly glued in or something.

I had to return to the dealer at 1,600 miles. My driver's door (Infinity) speaker sounded blown even at a very low volume and my fog lamp was busted, so I went in after work today at 5:00 PM and waited there to have them check it out. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they were replacing my fog lamp assembly and speaker under warranty. They did not have the speaker in stock, but have promised to replace it when it comes in. I asked for the original bulb that was still good, and they bagged it up for me and let me take it home for a spare. I was out on the road at 6:15. I have been impressed with the service so far at NW Dodge in Houston. The service writer Tony and the Sr. Diesel Tech Steve really seem to care about the customer instead of being defensive about problems and trying to explain things away as normal. So far so good. The honeymoon is not over yet, but I'm sure it's coming. Anyway these forums often are weighted toward the negative, I just wanted to share my positive.

Thats great to heare except for the fact that my warrenty just ran out today 36,040. Oh well thats my fault for not asking the dealer if it was under warrenty when I was in on Tues. As for the negative comments I didn't mean to sond negative actually my dealer has been a dream to deal with. A1 Customer service a real pleasure to deal with considering what their jobs consist of, Problems all day long! Anyway I am completely satisfied with my truck and the next one will definetely be a Dodge Diesel! Have a great one.
