Bug Sheld

I want to make a bug sheld for my new truck. I want to make it out of peforated stainless lite gage with at least 1/8 holes in it. I plan on staying about a 1/2 '' in front of the raidator. It will also protect it while working om the motor. I would to know if anyone has made one like this if so where did they get the metal. Thanks.

that 1/8" holed may not offer enough air flow. a more open mesh will flow much more air. i have a condensor guard on mine and it flows a good bit of air, and stands about 3/4" away from the condensor. bunch of pictures here.

Made mine out of window screen bought all materials a Lowe's for approx $14.
It protects the condensor from rocks and bugs just fine and doubles as a reminder to not lean against it.

Nick, nice looking rig! Did you make that guard out of a home return air filter? It looks suspiciously like what I use at my house... I would like to duplicate your setup.

BTW, what did you do with your chrome grille inserts? I'm looking for a set.
