Just wanted you all to know the mirrors only fold toward the rear of the truck. It's not a good idea to try to take a tree down with a mirror while backing up.

 

I learned that on my 06 with some kids face! I was letting the truck idle down in the parking lot at the barracks and all of a sudden WHAM. The kid was late and running up to the barracks and his travels were halted when his face met my mirror. He took my mirrror housing clean off the arm. I felt bad for him since he busted his lip and forcibly removed half his front tooth, so I didnt even ask for any money from him. I wish I could have gotten that on video, it knocked him right off his feet.

I know just what you are saying. I was backing my truck into the garage and hit the mirror. Garage is ok, the mirror was not. Dodge dealer wanted a lot of $ 580.00. I told him I would call him back. He is still waiting. I did the job for $ 150.00, with an after market mirror.

 

I found a set for $380 so I guess I'll be selling the left one as soon as they come in. Now I have to get the chain saw fired up. I've been dodging that tree long enough. She's going to be firewood by the end of the weekend.

 

I know all about the mirror not folding backwards. Backing out of the garage yesterday at 6:15 am, still half asleep. Compressed the drivers mirror like an accordion. Up here $603 for a new one from the dodge dealer, bought one online, dodge oem from a dealer in Texas for $179.00 Heat and power.

 

Bus mirror are hard on them as well
