Brake Controller Mounting

I am a happy new owner of a 2004 RAM 3500 5.9 HO Diesel. I am having problems figuring out where to mount a brake controller. I have pretty much decided on a Jordan or a Prodigy. Thanks for all the posts on both. I have seen SuperGewl's picture of the Ultima in a 2003 but I think that the 2004 is different. That area of the dash, bellow the steering wheel, appears to be much steeper and drops down much further. Any suggestions?

PS: This forum is great

Check my members photo gallery for pictures of the install.
Most of us have mounted the controllers on the lower panel under the steering wheel near your right foot.

On my truck I put it to the right of the steering wheel. I used the the Prodigy and it will work on the steep dash ,its not like the old ones that had to some what level.

You can check my member's photo section for the mounting location of my Voyager controller.

Here's mine, took out the ashtray assembly. I have a Laramie, which is a little harder to find a place for it.

I think I remember reading in the Prodigy instructions that it will work up to 70-some degrees. Mounting it on the panel below the steering wheel is no problem.

A side benefit of this is that it's easy to transfer between other vehicles. I had to loan a buddy my trailer (he drives an '03 as well), but he didn't have a controller yet. We just swapped dash panels.

I hope I'm not sounding dumb here, Does it need to be in easy reach? How often does one have to touch it after its adjusted? I really need to know if it requires watching.

For myself, I like to be able to reach it easily. If you want to be able to apply trailer brakes only, it is nice to be able to do that with having a hard time to reach the controller.
