brake caliper piston seals and dust boot?
brake caliper piston seals and dust boot?
my outer dust seals on all the caliper pistons are shot. i haven't puller the pistons out of the caliper bore yet but they looks like some moisture/dirt has been getting past the torn outer seal for some time. IF the piston bore can be cleaned up/honed without opening it up too much i would like to get new pistons, seals, and dust seals to rebuild them. My shop manual covers this procedure so the pistons/seals should be available but i couldn't find any part numbers. anybody ever done this and happen to have part numbers? the caliper sliders were in bad shape also, can you replace just the slider bushing?
i highly recommend checking yours and cleaning/lubing the sliders and clips for the pads. this could save you the $$ i now have to spend on rotors from them sticking.
At 80k miles (g56 tranny) my pads had 40-50% left but the back separated from the pad so i get to replace them also even though they are not worn. I wanted to get OEM pads but heard i can't get the same ones now. EBC yellow or green pads?

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...

Not sure about these trucks brakes, but in the past I have bought rebuild kits which come with everything but the pistons. You might look into that if you haven't yet.
