ball joint help

OK i lifted my truck 6" this weekend and I'm wanting to replace the ball joints upper and lower they have 88,000 on them and i have had some bad DW. I'm getting sick at some of the prices i have got from 580.00-1428.00. how big of a pain is it to replace the joints and what joints do i need the adjustable ones with 1* camber are just straight joints. I'm going to use Moog. hell half of the shops i talked to don't know is this some the alignment shop is going to need????? help me please

if front end has aligned ok in the past no need for adjustable uppers. only need them if camber or cross-caster is off.

your probably fine with non-adjustables. sounds like your trying to save some $$ and they are expensive, but you could consider the carli uppers ($550). Then you won't have to change them out again soon since i supplied the labor i still came out ahead versus paying a shop to put moogs in...

iI would do axle u-joints while its all apart also. DW seems to come from any combination of worn front end parts. may also want to check track bar bushings, play in gear box sector shaft, tie rod end slop....

yep I'm spent a lot of $$ here in the past 3 weeks on this truck. new tires, 6" lift, 6 new shocks, new adjustable track bar, new rims, and just today new ball joints and sway bar links and it looks like i need a new steering box it has some play in the shaft when you turn the wheel. so i guess i will have to have the brace bar kit for the new steering box as well to beef it up. hopefully the tie rod ends are ok. i'm sick of spending money to fix stuff

check out red head steering gears for a new gear box, better than oem and only $265 after core refund.
