i was wondering if anyone knows how to remove badges from the side of the truck without harming the paint or leaving a film?

First off welocme to the DTR Forums..

Please use the "Search" feature on the forums, this has been discussed several times. Search on de-badging

Many people have great success with Dental floss to saw through the rubber backing and use Naphtha (Ronsonol or Zippo Lighter fluid) to remove the sticky backing.

I used a hair dryer. Heated up the badge then slowly pulled it off. If there was any adhesive left I just used a little nail polish remover (dont tell your wife ) or 3M makes a great adhesive remover.

Welcome to DTR!

I have to agree do a search on the subject as it has been discussed several times before in great detail I might add.

Again welcome!

I've added badges..........

Actually took the black spears off .....was able to lift a corner with my finger and pulled them off (an advantage of living in the hot sun of Florida. I used some fishing line to remove the SLT emblem. I have a drill "eraser" to get the residue off and then some alcohole to clean up. Replaced the black spears with chrome spears. Put the SLT emblem under "HeavyDuty" with new 2 sided tape and put a fender Cummins badge under the 4X4.
